IntroductionVasant Valley School , New Delhi , established in 1990, is a self-financing day school with a current enrollment of 1257 in classes Foundation to Twelve. The school campus spreads over eight acres, and has fully equipped Science and Computer laboratories. School PhilosophyWhilst high academic achievement is a priority, the school aims to create a 'community' of well rounded individuals, where a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect exists among the students and teachers. The school organizes many activities throughout the year where qualities such as leadership and self-discipline are inculcated and there is an emphasis on the individuals intellectual and emotional growth. The senior students participate in awareness programs i.e visits to hospitals, paper recycling, education of the under-privileged, hygiene in villages, and so on. A number of sports are played in the school and give the students an opportunity to express their individual talent. Drama, Performing Arts, Arts and Design, Debating and Music form a significant part of the curriculum. Academic ProgramsIn classes XI and XII students prepare for the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (A.I.S.S.C.E.) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The school offers eighteen different subject choices at the Elective level. Each student is required to take four elective subjects along with English Core. There is no gradation within these elective subjects offered by the CBSE FacultyThe school has over a hundred and forty members of staff, out of which, over a hundred members hold a postgraduate degree. Student RanksThe school does not assign a class rank to students. CBSE AwardsA number of students of the school have been given merit awards after the class 10 and 12 C.B.S.E. Examination. Merit Awards are given to Students who are placed in the top 0.1 % of candidates who appeared in the Examination nationwide. Students from the school have also received the Junior Science Talent Search Scholarship, the National Talent Search Scholarship (both sponsored by the Government of India) and a student of the school Stood first in the All India Entrance exam in the top Law college (NLS) in India in 2005.
