Won

“Winning isn’t everything,
But it feels great to have Won.
There’s nothing wrong with loosing,
But better to some medals than to have none.”

This is an important race, the path is so clear.
To that medal, to that trophy, is so near.

You crouch down, in your starting position, With a determined smile on your face.
Your rear goes up in the air,
Your aim is to win this race.

You don’t hear much, (it feels like a dream!), Although, you do hear the screams They’re screaming your name!
You are completely astounded by your fame.

And their cheers push you further to win the race.
Winning this race, means they remember your face.

You feel the blood pumping through your veins, The closer you get, the more speed you gain!

You’re almost there,
Almost at the finish line,

But while giving it your all,
You trip and you fall!

Many emotions, you feel all at once in your head, You were SO close to winning! But you fell down instead.

Then you open your eyes,
Boy, You’re in for a surprise!
For you slowly realize,
Your name will be on the prize!

You stand up and raise your hands in the air like you could reach the sun, They’ll always remember who you are, and how fast you run.
And when you hear them screaming your name at the end, You know, that you have WON.
