30th November, 2009

Dear Parents ,

Over the last few days there have been fresh cases of H1N1 in the city.  We in school are keeping up with our sanitizing drive by  cleaning up the surfaces with constant mopping as well as segregating and disposing of used tissues.

Children are being encouraged to wash their hands frequently as well as use hand sanitizers. We do not have assembly in the mornings and are also avoiding large gatherings of any kind.

Children who show flu like symptoms must stay at home as per medical advice. We reiterate that home quarantine for children should be taken seriously.

With warm regards

Arun Kapur

22nd September 2009

Dear Parents,

In the last two weeks, there has been an increase in the incidence of children testing positive for the H1N1 virus. We have 12 fresh cases of H1N1 virus in our school and it seems like this trend might continue. According to the doctors, as the weather gets cooler, the spread of this virus is inevitable. The contagiousness of the virus is the concern rather than the seriousness of the infection itself. Just to be on the safe side we are stopping assembly from tomorrow.

The world over, it has been observed that frequent washing of hands is the best way to keep this virus under check. We are encouraging children in school to wash their hands as well as use sanitizers. Let us together reiterate the importance of practices like washing hands frequently, covering of mouth while coughing and sneezing and avoiding touching eyes and nose with hands.
In any case if your child shows flu like symptoms, do keep them at home for seven days. Please remember that this is a period of quarantine and not a holiday. Children should not go out and interact with others. I am sure as responsible parents you will understand the importance of this quarantine.
For testing and treatment, you could go to the following Government run hospitals:

  1. Airport Health Organisation Hospital, IGI Airport, New Delhi
  2. Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Baba Kharag Singh Marg, New Delhi
  3. Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital, Delhi gate, New Delhi
  4. Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi
  5. Aruna Asaf Alu Hospital, Civil Lines, Delhi

The Helpline number of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is 23921401.

With regards,

Continuing precautions against H1N1 Virus

Dear Parents,

In school we are continuing our efforts to keep the H1N1 virus as much under control as possible. In keeping with the guidelines laid down by the Controller H1N1, Government of Delhi and by the school doctor, we are continuing the constant mopping of all surfaces with disinfectant, segregating of used tissues and washing hands with sanitizer by the children and all other adults in school.

On Monday one of our senior school students had tested positive for H1N1 and yesterday one of the students in Junior School has also tested positive. He had been away from school the past week and will come back only after his quarantine is over.

If your child shows flu like symptoms, please do keep them at home for seven days.

With regards,

Arun Kapur
