Dear Parents,

One of our students has been tested positive for the H1N1 Virus and is undergoing treatment in a Government hospital.

We have spoken to various doctors, Dr. Rahul Nagpal, our school doctor who is also the Head of Paediatrics at Max Hospital Saket, Dr. Arun Gupta, Dr. Jagtiani and Dr. Pankaj Vohra. We have also spoken to Dr. R.P.Vasishth, controller for H1N1, Government of Delhi and Dr. Kaushal, the South West District Health Officer. As recommended by the doctors, in order to control the spread of the virus all students of class 9 and the teachers who have been in contact with the class are required to stay at home for the next one week from the 27 th of July to the 31 st of July, 2009 for home quarantine. They must stay at home and not visit malls, friends as well has not have visitors and take this home quarantine seriously.

As a special precautionary measure, over this weekend, we are disinfecting the entire school building and furniture using Lyzol. We are calling in all the school buses on Sunday and also disinfecting them with Lyzol. We are providing Clarus hand sanitizers in all classrooms and will encourage all students and teachers to sanitize their hands once or twice a day. Please do reiterate at home that children use disposable tissues rather than a handkerchief and use the special waste paper baskets that have been provided in the alcoves for proper disposal.

If your child has any flu like symptoms, please keep them at home till they have been medically cleared by a doctor. In case children develop flu like symptoms in school, we will keep them in a separate sick room till they are taken home.

The doctors have said that this is just a beginning and there could be more cases. There is no need to panic as this is a flu like any other flu which is treatable except that it is more contagious and therefore due precautions need to be taken.

Looking forward to your cooperation as always.

With warm regards
Arun Kapur
