Like every year, the Mind Rocks Summit is an anticipated event for the students of classes 11 and 12. We stopped all our exam preparation for the day and went to the Siri Fort auditorium to listen to some of the most influential people in the country.
The day started off with Ms. Smiti Irani talking about the struggles she went through from her transition as an actor to a politician and what a ‘New India’ means to her. Next we witnessed the proud members of the women’s Indian cricket team who spoke about their journey of working up the ranks in a male dominated sport.
Post that session, we witnessed Sanjay Dutt who told us to remain “high on life” as he spoke of his struggle with addiction for around 10 years of his life and later entertained us with dancing to the rhythm of the chartbuster song “Tamma, Tamma”.
The atmosphere became lively once comedian Kunal Kamra came on stage, who cracked jokes on the political situation of the country while simultaneously asserting on the fundamental right to freedom of speech.
The last performance was by Varun Dhawan, whose “killer” dance moves made every boy and girl in the audience want to get up on stage and dance with him.
Overall the summit was both educative and entertaining, and was enjoyed by every student present.
