27 May 2022

Parnika Ahlawat, a ten year old girl, student of Vasant Valley School (Class 6C), reached Everest Base Camp successfully on on 27th May, 2022.

She left for Kathmandu on 18th May, 2022 and took a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla early morning on 19th of May. On the same day she started off for the trek. She covered around 65km and on 27th May, 2022 reached Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 17598ft as part of the trip organised byV Team AdventureforExplore, Experience and Inspire Foundation“.

She stated that it was not easy but she had a deep desire to personally see with own eyes Mt Everest, which her father had climbed to the top and led the NCC girls team, despite failure of his oxygen mask. She has been going for trekking in Himalayas since she was 2-3 years old and for the past two years on a regular basis. She had been part of mountaineering expeditions to Mt Friendship in Manali and Mt Mentok Kangari in Ladakh. These regular trips to  mountains gave her the confidence to undertake this challenging Everest Base Camp Trek. She wants to summit Mt Everest in near future and aims to win Olympic gold medals for India in various disciplines of Equestrian (Horse Riding).
