Speakers’ Forum 2020

7 February 2020

The fifth edition of Vasant Valley’s famed Speakers’ forum was a spectacular success, providing a forum for the young voices to exchange ideas. The brilliant analysis in the Book Discussions witnessed students of classes VI and VII sharing opinions on the novel ‘Keeper of the Lost Cities’ by Shannon Messenger and students of classes VIII and IX on ‘Taken’ by Erin Bowman. The powerful renditions in Oral Interpretation and topical arguments put forth by the students in Turncoat kept the audience on tenterhooks. The Tall Tale prompt which was- A young girl walks into her parent’s room one-morning without saying a word looking distant, calm, and pale. Finally, matter-of-factly she speaks, “We should make the most of today because it’s our last.”- provided a creative tool for the young learners to weave intriguing stories. The same enthusiasm was shown during the Slam Poetry renditions wherein the budding critical thinkers put across thoughtful opinions on the topic ‘Not Finished Yet’. Thus the event proved to be a productive session for all the participating schools and it truly taught everyone the importance of being able to communicate our thoughts with clarity.

We are grateful to our alumni, Ishaan Gupta (Class of 2006), Medha Vira Gupta (Class of 2009) and Samvid Gupta (Class of 2010) for their generous support in creating the website.
