Talk On Waterborne Diseases by Dr. Pratibha Kale

1 December 2021

Dr. Kale came online on Zoom to talk to the entire class 3 about water. She spoke about how water gets contaminated and how mosquitoes have a very long nose sticking out of the water. It was an interesting talk. She also spoke about diseases like Diarrhoea, Malaria, Typhoid Fever, Cholera, Filariasis, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Hepatitis, Amoebiasis, Giardiasis, Dysentery and Gastroenteritis. All of them mostly affect the stomach because that is where water goes once you drink it but it also affects other parts of the body. I learnt to not drink water without knowing how clean it is. After the talk, I have been wondering about where water comes from and the different water bodies. Take Precautions. Stay Safe!
