Shashvat Rastogi, Ritwick Sapra, and Vivasvat Rastogi of class 11 prepared a research project which was selected for live oral presentation among 23 other internationally selected projects at the Thailand International Science Fair (TISF) organised by Mahidol Wittayanusorn School. They presented their research online on 14th February, 2023 to an eminent jury composed of Thailand’s scientists and domain experts. To solve the dual problems of non-sustainable construction material usage and stubble burning, they researched “Assessment of Impact of Substrate Composition and Heating Duration on Density of Mycelium-Based Composite of Pleurotus ostreatus (Oyster Mushroom)”. After experimentation, they created bricks made of fungi that used stubble besides other supplements and subsequently used statistics for confirmation of claims, and Machine Learning for future prediction.
