The 9th Nanhi Chhaan National School Essay Contest, 2022 was conducted by the Nanhi Chhaan Foundation. A number of students from various prestigious schools participated from across the country in the first round at their respective schools, and Sumaya Beri’s essay titled, “Indian Culture-What does it mean?” was shortlisted for the Final Round of the Contest from Vasant Valley School.
The Final Round of the event this year was spread over two days from 10th to 11th of October. On Monday, 10th of October, the prelims to the final were held In-person from The Scindia School, Gwalior, M.P from 10:20 am onwards. Herein, our selected finalist, Sumaya Beri wrote another essay as the second round of the contest, on the topic, “How Important is the freedom of Press?” Sumaya won the first prize in the prestigious Essay Writing Contest bringing laurels to the school along with a cash prize of Rupees 30,000. Sumaya will be donating some amount of money to an NGO of her choice.
